Welcome to Bushmead Court, we are registered with
the Care Quality Commission as a 27 bedded residential
care home for the elderly. Accommodation consists of 23 single rooms and 2 double bedrooms.
Our aim is to provide the very highest standards of 24 hour care, the team is led by our Manager. She also plans day to day care in collaboration with her team of Senior Carers who are supported by experienced Carers, some of whom have trained to NVQ Levels 2 & 3 in care. In – house training is provided to promote and increase standards within the Home. To discuss our fees please contact the Manager. Special rates apply for two service users sharing a room or for single occupancy of a double room. The manager will discuss our charges with the prospective service user or their representative following an accurate assessment of the level of care required. This assessment is made prior to admission to Bushmead Court.

A safe, caring, warm and homely environment where the remaining years can be spent in peace and dignity, maintaining the individual’s identity, privacy and self esteem. The delivery of excellent standards of personal care to promote and maintain physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. Assessing the individual’s social and care needs by listening and involving them with family, friends, doctors and nurses to formulate a package of care tailored to their needs. STATEMENT OF AIMS & OBJECTIVES (MISSION STATEMENT)
It is the objective of Bushmead Court to provide care to all service users to a standard of excellence, which embraces fundamental principles of good care practice. This may be witnessed and evaluated through the practice, conduct and control of quality care in the home. It is a fundamental ethos that those service users who live in the home should be able to do so in accordance with the home’s Statement of Values, ref Policy No. 210.It is the objective of the home that service users shall live in a clean, comfortable and safe environment, and be treated with respect and sensitivity to their individual needs and abilities. Staff will be responsive to the individual needs of service users and will provide the appropriate degree of care to assure the highest possible quality of life within the home. To meet those client needs the care service within the home is designed to achieve the following objectives:
To deliver a service of the highest quality, Bushmead Court is following the Blue Cross mark of Excellence Quality Assurance Programme and has completed all the relevant documentation. To reinforce this, it is the policy of management that Bushmead Court shall, as applicable to the business, apply to meet the requirements of the International Quality Standard ISO 9000 (latest revision) on completion of their Quality Assurance Programme.

To ensure that the care service is delivered flexibly, attentively and in a non-discriminatory fashion while respecting each service user’s right to independence, privacy, dignity, fulfillment, and the rights to make informed choices and to take risks.

To ensure that each service user’s needs and values are respected in matters of religion, culture, race, or ethnic origin, sexuality, and sexual orientation, political affiliation, marital status, parenthood and disabilities or impairments.

To endure that the care service in whole is delivered in accordance with the Statement of Terms and Conditions agreed at the point of moving into the home.

To manage and implement a formal programme of staff planning, selection, recruitment, training and personal development to enable service user care needs to be met.

To manage the care service efficiently and effectively to make best use of resources and to maximise value for money for the service user.

To ensure that all service users receive written information on the home’s procedure for handling complaints, comments and compliments, and it is used.
STATEMENT OF VALUES (PHILOSOPHY OF CARE)
This policy identifies the Philosophy of Care of the Home and can be used in conjunction with policy numbers 208 and 209 to form the Statement of Purpose of the Home. Bushmead Court aims to provide its service users with: A safe, caring, warm and homely environment where the remaining years can be spent in peace and dignity, maintaining the individual’s identity, privacy and self esteem. The delivery of excellent standards of personal care to promote and maintain physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. Assessing the individual’s social and care needs by listening and involving them with family, friends, doctors and nurses to formulate a package of care tailored to their needs. This will be achieved through programmes of activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self-esteem, social interaction with other service users and with recognition of the following core values of care which are fundamental to the Philosophy of our Home:All care staff within the home will be appropriately trained to deliver the highest standards of care. A continuous staff training programme is implemented to ensure that these high standards are maintained in line with the latest initiatives and developments in care practices as may be laid down in appropriate legislation, regulations and the National Care Standards Commission guidelines.
COMMENTS
The staff at Bushmead Court do their utmost to ensure that our care, services, attention and courtesy provided to all residents, and their families and friends, meet the highest standards at all times. We invite feedback on our care and services; please let our staff know of any comments you may wish to make. We recognise that concerns do occasionally arise, and welcome them being brought to our attention at the earliest possible opportunity. Please discuss any concerns you may have with a member or staff as soon as possible. If the member of staff is unable to address your concerns immediately, he/she will bring the concerns to a more senior member of staff who can take the necessary action.
DATA PROTECTION
Residents and visitors to Bushmead Court can be assured that we take data protection seriously. We there fore use every means at our disposal to comply with the data protection act 1998. We retrieve and store no online data from or website. All other data held by us is used and stored according to the directives of the CQC and follows the current legislation under the EU GDPR regulations and orders enforced as from 25th May 2018. We do not share information with third parties ( with the exception of government bodies who have a statutory right to such information ). Nor do we transmit, sell, disseminate or allow the use of such information outside the confines of clinical use during the assessment and treatment of patients and clients within the home.Patients and relatives who wish to access such information are at any time welcome to view the information we hold on record. Providing proper application is made to the home manager and the appropriate authorisation is obtained.
